The Kennel

We have twelve large 4'x 35' exercise-condusive indoor/outdoor runs, and three 4'x6' indoor-only runs. The indoor-only runs are used primarily used for temporary holding of dogs. We can combine adjacent dog runs for flexible space and feeding arrangements.

The interior portions of the runs are in the lower level of a banked barn structure. This keeps the interior naturally cool during the summer, and warm in the winter. In addition, the interior is heated in the winter and air-conditioned/dehumidified during the summer.

Each run contains a large 2' x 4' cot for the dogs to relax on. You are welcome to bring beds, small cages, blankets, etc. that your dog is famliar with. We can provide beds for dogs that are not prone to chewing them up.

The dogs in the indoor/outdoor runs can go in and out as they wish, during the day. We close the doors at night to keep them inside, warm and safe from the damp night air. Dogs in the indoor-only runs are walked every 3 - 4 hours during the day.

Only dogs belonging to the same owner are ever boarded together in the same run, except when related owners specifically request boarding their dogs together.

Access to our facilities is controlled, and all doors are locked 24x7. The individual runs are also locked for your pets protection.

Vet and Health

The boarding facility is inspected and licensed by the Pohatcong Township Dog Warden and the Warren County Board of Health, and undergoes water quality and fire inspections. Our veterinarian monitors our health, food handling and cleaning and disinfecting practices. We have two veterinarians on call at all times.

We do not give injections. Should your dog require this type of care, a veterinary boarding facility is recommended.

Veterinary certificates are required as proof that rabies, distemper and bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations are up to date.

Feeding

We provide premium dry dog food. You are welcome to provide your own dry or wet dog food, if you prefer, and especially if your dog does not handle dietary changes well. We have refrigeration for your canned and wet foods and medications, if needed.
